Properties & Healing
Septarian Concretion or Septarians nodule were formed during the Cretaceous Period, around 50 to 70 million years ago and are some of the most beautiful and interesting stones that you will see because no two stones look exactly the same.
Periodic volcanic eruptions killed the smaller sea life in the oceans around USA, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, Madagascar, Spain, and England. which sank to the sea bed and started decomposing. The minerals in the shells and carcasses attracted to the sea floor sediments which accumulated around the carcasses and formed nodules or mud balls. When the ocean eventually receded, the mud balls dried out and began to shrink and crack into the beautiful patterns that you see inside the septarian nodules
The name septarian comes from the Latin word septum; "partition", and refers to the cracks/separations in this kind of rock although some believe it is derived from the Latin word which means seven, or ‘saeptum’, meaning a wall or an enclosure. The stone also got its name because it seems to form in a pattern of seven.
The mudball that’s formed on the seabed splits into seven different points and radiates in all directions creating the contrasting and distinctive dragon skin pattern as a result. These crystals are also known by the names Dragonstone and Septeyre.
The yellow parts that you see are the calcite, and the brown lines are aragonite. The white lines are baryte, and the grey ones are either chalcedony or limestone. With that un mind, Septarian has a great and diverse effect on the life of anyone who uses it. The minerals that can be found in the stones have their own separate effects on you, and they may vary depending on a specific reason.
